    Problem with Radeon 3850

    Hey,
My Radeon 3850 is Not Working Nevertheless, a major problem after the installation of the card. I see everything in 4-bit color with 640x480-pixel resolution. I have installed the drivers several times, but it would not happen anything. Windows detects the card as "Standard VGA video card" Therefore "loaded" the standard drivers for the card.It is as if I should install some other drivers that are not intended for my video card. I tried downloading the latest drivers from ATI's website, but no progress at all. I tried with both XP and 32-Vista operating system. The same problem I would have been extremely pleased if someone kindly soul could help me with my horrific problem. Windows does not seem to install my card which is the Radeon 3850.

    I enclose my pc specification:

    • RAM: 2GB PC3200 DDR400
    • Hard drive: 320GB, Seagate 3.5 IDE
    • Processor: Pentium 4 3.2 GHz socket 478
    • Motherboard: ABIT IS7-e2
    • Graphics card: HIS Radeon 3850 512mb AGP x8
    • Sound card: Soudblaster XFI XtreameMusic
    • PSU: Unknown, 450watt

Would be rally happy if someone could help me.

Have you tried to reinstall Windows, probably it's maybe case older drivers or maybe infact corrupted system files of Windows XP .If you currently have installed and tested on Fresh copy of windows XP then , so you should try to set the AGP speed in the BIOS to 4x AGP instead just to see if it can give success .Have a nice Day

Are you sure that the graphic card is AGP and not a PCI-e card. Also are you overclocking by any chance?
