Re: Dell launches two budget 17-, 19-inch LCDs

The former is one of Dell's most basic units with a widescreen 1440x900 resolution and VGA-only input in a relatively business-focused shell. Other specs include a 600:1 contrast ratio and 8ms response time, along with a 250cd/m² brightness.
The larger UltraSharp 1908FP sports 1280x1024 resolution in an increasingly rarer 4:3 ratio with a 800:1 contrast ratio and a faster 5ms response time and a slightly brighter 300cd/m². It also adds four USB 2.0 ports, allowing users easier access to add more peripheral devices to their computers, as well as a DVI-D port. The stand is also more advanced, allowing users to swivel it left to right in addition to making height and tilt changes.

Both LCDs are now available, with the 17-inch E1709W priced at $179, while the 19-inch UltraSharp 1908FP costs $249.
