Power supply problem in graphics card HD 4870 X2

hello, I just HAVE HD 4870 X2 brand HIS, I do the installation myself, but by starting the computer screen does nothing (no signal) and over the map make a noise awful. for connecting I put just a 6 pin I wonder if the problem just food or connection or the motherboard or the screen?(in short I am a little panic)

    Processor: intel Q6600
    Motherboard: Gigabyte p35ds4
Graphics card; HIS HD 4870 X2
    RAM: 2 GB
Screen: 17 inch Ibox (not HD)
    Food: seventeam st-550p-ag 550watt
I used an XP Pro service pack 2

with my screen I do not have resolutions enormous, I can make a very low resolution pending a new screen (mid 2009).
when I put the HD 4870 X2, there is nothing to show (is the card does not make noise), but when I replace the old card, everything is nickel.
    Please help me !

in the worst case could you give me the steps of connecting facilities one by one?

So if you have a PCI-e, we must connect the 6pin on the connector 8pins the graphics card and the pc start.

As against the inconvenience, if you have a plug on 2 of trendy is that the card will play in 3d mode, it will remain at frequencies 2D.
    You need 2 PCI-e 6pin to a minimum.

    Several things:
Before moving on a nVidia CG a CG AMD / ATI, you vires well before Forceware drivers ? as you do not speak..
HD 4870 X2 requires dual PCI-E connections 6 and 8-pin, it consumes much in 3D.
Feed your fate where? how many amps deliver Does +12 V? is inscribed on the block. Clearly, it is not appropriate for this configuration.

thank you to answer. What is a driver ForceWare? (sorry I do not know me too), then I have to change their diet? for the history of pin: there is a 6 pin and an 8 pin on the map. but I do not have 8-pin!, does it need an adapter or is supplied with a new food ?
for the 17 inch screen provisional it can go?

Forceware = name generic nVidia drivers.

it is clear, change of food mandatory home with 2 PCI slots 6 +8. It takes heavy gear for this, gender 650W at Corsair, Antec, Seasonic ....

For your screen, it does not go at all but since you planned to chnage in qqs months, you will do with it.

I try plugging the card with 2 pins 6, is the card do more horrible excessive noise but there is a message in red flashing that says as what we did not install correctly power supply cable, ( I panicked and I turned off the computer directly.

Power supply on my (current), there is a 8 PIN but it is plugged right next to the processor, this replaces the pin by a 6 and that I put this one on the card, what could this past?. on the food it is written Voltage 12 V1 18, +5 V, 30 A 3.3 V 28A, Current A 0.8-12V, +5 V 2.5A ..Is what I have completely forgotten the idea of keeping my food? if you could advise me good food on the Asian market would be really nice ... thank you in advance for all.

Do not do that, the ATX power supply connector 8pins is not the same as on 8 pins on the graphics card: no:
    Otherwise, you're good 2 PCI-e 6x on this food?

You connect properly 6pin in 8pins the graphics card (normally there is only one meaning, you can not deceived you).

I have the HIS Radeon HD 4870 X2 is then obliged to have the connection 6 pins and 8 pins if the fan is to turn food super fast non-stop without anything on the screen.

In addition, your food is not powerful enough and the air of being a no name on the box, he asked a minimum of 650 watts with a 6 pins and an 8 pins

I strongly suggest you change your food, I have taken a Thermaltake Toughpower 850 watts and its works perfectly
