Red LED Geforce GTX 280

Today I got my XFX GeForce 280 GTX. They have connected (yes Mesopotamia has connections, 1x6Pin and 1x8Pin), but I have only two ports on NT with 2x6Pin for PCIe. So times have tried.

However, the computer does not start, the red LED lights on the cpu glows.

What does this mean? It must necessarily be 1x6Pin and 1x8Pin? They get enough power or is it broken? If I have a new NT?

Thank you for an answer

edit:

Specifications of the NT:

You must necessarily have 8xPin port, usually located in an adapter.

Re: Red LED Geforce GTX 280

The GTX 280 has a TDP of 236 watts, two 6-pin connector plus the PCIe slot on specification but may only deliver 225 watts. With an 8-pin connector and a 6-pin plugs are allowed 300 watts. That is why the 8-pin connector required. Your power supply is sufficient, however.
