Monitor Height and Position Guidelines

What are Guidelines for viewing a monitor ( computer screen) . like what should be the ideal position and distance from monitor than would not have any after affects on our anatomy (Eyes,Back)? please help any kind of suggestion will be welcome.

I thinks 45 cm distance is enough between your eyes and computer monitor. it wont have problems.

hey, Oswald it is not just 45cm a standard length. the length varies according to size of screen this is called as rule of thumb. This depends on an individuals visual capabilities, a good rule of thumb is you should be a minimum distance equal to the diagonal monitor width (i.e. for a 25" monitor, your eyes should be at least 25" away from the monitor).this ways its works 40-45cm is most common because most normally everybody has 15-17 inch monitor which when you convert in centimeters will be around 40-45 cm. so i hope you would have understand it.

And One thing you should also note that this problem occur only with CRT screen monitor but with not LCDs as if may be using LCD monitor then your dont need to worry about any harmful affects because LCD Monitor don't emit radiations like Crt monitors.

yes actually oswald is true,but newer CRT has Less radiation compared to older ones. their radiation level is almost negligible.

So it would be most feasible to use LCD moniters than CRT.thanks guys for you help.
