Recording programs from TV?

I want to record my favourate programs & movies from TV!
I know this is possible but dont know how?

you need a capture card and some analog input recording software.

u need TV tuner card.Pinnacle cards are one of the best.Fix the card in PCI slot of ur PC (motherboard).Attach ur cable/set top box to the TV tuner card/follow the instruction given on Package of TV tuner card kit.
