Help with NVIDIA drivers for Vista

I'm having trouble installing NVIDIA drivers on my computer. I have Vista 32-bit. I download the stuff from NVIDIA's site, but when I want to install it, it gives me an error message that says there aren't any compatible drivers, and then it exits. I need the NVIDIA driver(s) so I can play a game on my Vista. I've tried ATI but that basically says the same thing.

Does anybody know what's going on? And I'm extremely sorry if this is too similar to another thread, of if this has already been addressed dozens of times.

When you say you have tried installing ATI graphic drivers as well along with the nvidia drivers then are you sure you are using a particular video card or just an onboard graphics? Can you please tell us what are your computer specifications.

What do you mean? Like my bit version and processor and that kind of stuff?

You need to tell us the make/model no. of the extra graphic card you are using so that we can search for that particular driver or provide you with some exact solution. If you are talking about the onboard graphic card, then the drivers in the original motherboard CD must be sufficient for that to work properly.

I don't quite get your post.

I feel so computer-retarded when put against people of your intelligence.

My driver version for the chipset is: 7.14.10.1437... but I don't think that was what you were talking about. It's in the display adapter section of my device manager.

In the actual disk drive section it says I have Hitachi HDP725050GLA360 ATA Device.
