    How to setup a monitor?

    Why the hell the power indicator light begins to flash like it is on standby if I plug my Samsung SyncMaster 740N monitor into my Acer laptop withthe OS Windows Vista. When I was previously plugging it in the laptop the light is always there with the message "Check Signal Cable" meaning that the monitor is working flawlessly. I have also done enough troubleshooting by reinstalling the drivers & setting the Display properly for sometime. This pc does recognize the monitor but does not shows any desktops or anything, it is completely black. So can anybody help me out with this? Thank you

    Do you know what videocard is on your laptop?

    What are your laptop make/model & can you tell me if there is any video card installed?

    Did you try reinstalling the VGA card driver or reinstalling the window?

    Depending on your video card you have to select an output monito in display options from your laptop.
