Couldn't see anything on my monitor

Hello everyone,

A week ago I have built a brand new computer. I tried to install Windows XP on it but nothing happened. I could not see anything as the monitor don't detect any signal and finally turns off. I don't know what is the problem, so please help me?

My Specs:

Intel P35 Motherboard
Intel® Core™2 Duo E8200 Processor
2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 SDRAM
256 MB NVIDIA GF 6600 DDR2 PCI Express Card

Can you see fans spinning? If so try couple of things as specified:

1. Remove the CMOS battery and replace it again.
2. Try to boot with only one RAM stick
3. Also if you have any old RAM (or you may take your friends RAM), and try to boot and see what happens after that.

If your system starts and the monitor shows nothing than probably your graphics card is faulty.

Dutta, I tried using only one Ram and also with my friends Ram but that was of no use. I tried to CMOS one also but that too didn't worked at all.

Yitzchak909, I don't think its my graphic card because its brand new one.

Anyone else out there?

This is a free board where everyone tries to solve any kinda problem by giving or fetching any news, reviews, computer troubleshooting, etc. Unless if it is a major issue then we advice to take it to some computer shop or so.
