I am working with Project 2007. We have a large schedule that has been manually layed out in the Network Diagram view. It's a very large schedule with inputs from many different teams. One team wants to see only their tasks and the overall milestones.

Normally, when I apply a filter in the Gantt chart (Entry table), the same filter is applied to the Network Diagram.

But today, I created a filter, applied it and the network diagram view did not change. I saved the file as something else on my computer in case it was a read-only issue. That didn't help.

Today I was working with someone else's schedule, so I don't know what is hiding in there! Is it possible to lock down a view? If so, how do I unlock it?

I think that there is way to insert a Flag field such as Flag1 and set it to Yes for each task you want to see. Create a new filter that only shows tasks with Flag1=Yes. If you have two different selections needed, use Flag2 for the second report. Of course if you save the project, your selections are stored for next time as well.

What is the filter definition you used? The built-in filters (Resource Group, Using Resource, Critical, etc) should work just fine.

Let us know what your filter definition was and we'll try to assist.
