| Updating Task's Finish Date
How do I update a task's finish date? A task in my project will not complete on time. This task is Fixed Duration with 11 resources assigned. 9 of the resources have completed their work, but two resources must continue for another 16 - 24 hours each beyond the scheduled finish date. When I attemp to change the finish date by 3 days, the Project is making many strange changes to all resources remaining work. Also, I've noticed Project changing the task to be 'fixed units'. |

When you have multiple Resources on one Task, try this method: Select Window, Split Right mouse-click in the lower pane and select Resource Work Set the Start date to the date the Task actually stated Update Actual and Remaining Work for each Resource. When all remaining work is zero, the Task is complete. -- Rod Gill Microsoft MVP for Project Author of the only book on Project VBA, see: http://www.projectvbabook.com "Tom" <Tom@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:15CD617B-2F28-432C-8D87-20360C2C16D1@microsoft.com... > How do I update a task's finish date? Hi, I like your expression "is making many strange changes" You will now appreciate that in the courses I give I don't even try to explain what can happen if you change the finish date of a task The message is don't like in DO NOT. Enter reality instead - you say it yourself: two resources must continue for > another 16 - 24 hours each beyond the scheduled finish date. That is what you enter (Rod explained how) and LET PROJECT CALCULATE the days.
