Summarize Task on Resource Usage View/Reports

Can anyone tell me how to summarize the task for each resource on the resource usage report that show a total by Outline level 1. There is a plan that I have got with multiple projects at the Outline level 1 by using a group of resources accross projects. I want to see the work by resource with task assigned to each resource summarized up to the project level underneath them. Thanks for any replies.

I think that you have created a resource pool file when you are saying that you have got a group of resources accross project. When you are saying about Outline Level 1 then do you mean that these are summary tasks or project summary tasks. If I understand you properly then you can try to open the resource pool file and then apply the Resource Usage view and then create a group via Project >> Group By, More Groups, New

Group Definition:
Group By
Field Name: Project
Field Type: Assignment
Order: Ascending

Then By:
Field Name: Name
Field Type: Resource
Order: Ascending

If you want to select the Assignment field type then you have to check the option "Groups assignments, not resources". Just follow all this things and report back.

I have a simple work plan, 2 resources groups 2 resources in each group, no resource pool, using project 2007.
When view Resource usage view
Display - <Percent allocation> .
Grouping by <Recource group>
I was expecting to see the summary of the percent allocation of the 2 resources in each group.
However the grouping line not showing the Summary of the percentages allocation which are showen in the grid. for some reason it is not summarizing the percentages.
Any idea how to do it ??

Sorry for the delay in seeing your post. You might want to consider starting a new thread in the future versus adding onto a two year old thread.
To your question:
I created a simple project:

Four resources in two different groups
Assigned the resources to tasks
Display the Resource Usage view, add Percent Allocation to the timescaled (right side)
Group by - Resource Group

On the summary line I am seeing the correct data.
In the attached file, you'll see Resources assigned at 100% to tasks. The group summary line shows 50% allocation when I have one of the two resources assigned. When I have both resources assigned at 100%, the Percent Allocation at summary line shows 100%.

I am using Project 2007, SP 2
