    Elapsed time vs effort time

Before I ask the question, let me explain the situation. I started a task about 6 months ago and so far (1st Oct 08) only 80% of the work is completed. Task type = Fixed work and should be set to 10 days. Now what I wanted to know is how can view the remaining work in project plan? Is this possible in MS Project?

First of all Display the Work table: View / Table / Work
There you will find the following:
    Work : 10 days
    Actual Work : 8 days
    Remaining Work : 2 days

Once done, go to Tools / Tracking / Update Project / Reschedule un completed work to start after : 1st Oct 2008 in order to schedule the Remaining work after the status date. That’s it.

Re: Elapsed time vs effort time

I have one query regarding the Microsoft Project.

I have created a project plan, i have set the base line as well. now i want to show the delay of each task.. how can i do that.

Say one of my task started on March 19, 2010 and was supposed to finish on March 22, 2010.

However, the task started on time but finished on March 30, 2010. so i want to show the delay of 8 days in the project plan...

    How can i do that..
