When searching for available updates on the Update site, you see the 0x8007043B
    error
    http://update.microsoft.com/windowsu...=en&IsMu=False

    What causes Error 0x8007043b

    Re: Error number: 0x8007043B

I have done everything on the webpage -
    http://update.microsoft.com/windowsu...=en&IsMu=False
and http://www.updatexp.com/0x8007043b.html and nothing has worked.

Actually I take it back - it is IMPOSSIBLE to do everything on these two
webpages because there is no such thing as a "value data" option in regedit

Some may be able to assist you but you need to provide the edition of
    Windows installed, cindy.

If this is Windows XP : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910337
First Verify that BITS is correctly configured.
Then see the Troubleshooting steps for:

Error 1083:The executable program that this service is configured to run
in does not implement the service. (0x8007043B)

IF the above does not resolve the error there is a strong likelihood
that either the installed security software ( *especially if* a Norton
or McAfee product is installed ) or, *malware* is the cause of this issue.

See if the system can be scanned by the Windows Malicious Software
    Removal Tool:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Download and save the MRT. When the download completes close all open
programs and browsers and then run the MRT (windows-kb890830-v2.14.exe)

And, if this is XP, you can use Internet Explorer and see if the OneCare
Protection scanner can scan the system:
