pulsar dtsi ...bought it last year ...haven`t experienced any problem till now
u can also look at the unocorn if u want...........

CBZ anyday... beats ithe other in every aspect (Honda Unicorn: No comments ) The only downside is the millage that is about 40 KMPL

I have been thinking of "upgrading" to a new bike.. going by the soaring oil prices, i want one with a gr8 mileage.. but the Thunderbird 350 is soo tempting..

    Yamaha RX135 5-Speed 14.2BHP

    YO!!! the ultimate bike

Man...the bike gave me 45.32KMPL 2day...quite enuf for me consider this i rip it at every stretch

thats a 2 stroke bike ,,,,they are soon going to phased out...

Hmm...that particular model was phased out 3 years ago

it was sooooo gooood they put that engine+gearbox combo into the RXZ ( prices 6K more ) thats why i bot tht second hand

Comin models of RX135 hav only 4 gears and 11BHP.....

I personally own the old Pulsar 150.Now the new DTS-i kicks its ass in terms of both pickup and mileage.Honda Unicorn is good too esp pickup, dunno much about its mileage but shud b good enuf.I say its a toss b/w P-150 (PULSAR NOT PENTIUM! ) DTS-i and Honda Unicorn.

hey but the pulsar 150dtsi specsheet says tht its top speed is 120kmph....but tht of cbz is around 108 kmph..moreover pulsar's mileage is a gud 10-12 kml better than cbz...so which aspect r u talkin about dear?Dont take it seriously...jus wanted to kno.
I loved the cbz when it was released but it has not been revised since inception...stickerwork notwidstanding...whereas the pulsar got a gr8 dtsi treatment which worked...i really feel tht its high time th cbz gets some powerplant treatment..

Do yo actually believe that what is said on that specsheet is ture? if so, then no point in debating.

and there are other aspects of the bikes too man, pickup, handeling, tyres, road grip.
No doubt that Pulsar DTSi is very good indeed with those dual spark plugs that gives you better effiency BUT it has some design flaws too

Hey Rave i dont really believe in specsheets but i hav tried both the cbz n the pulsar dtsi...i agree wid u tht the stability, road grip n pickup of the CBZ is gud...but the engine is a bit rough compared to the pulsar n considering tht the mileage is always around 38-40 kmpl...it seems a bit dated...the dtsi treatment has greatly improved engine performance n pickup of the pulsar..but i agree tht the stability n roadgrip of cbz is still better...
But dont u think...hero honda is takin its valued customers too much for granted....a performance update to the cbz is the need of the hour...if n when it comes...I'l b among the first few to buy one..!!

Btw has any1 bought or tried the Unicorn....is it gud...need ur advice...

My personal favourite though is still the Bullet Electra...man it luks as good as it goes...but the rising fuel prices n the initial price keep me frm buyin one..

Abosolutely. This is what is very annoying about them, and the availabiltyos spares.. gawd dont ask, only stuff available is for that Splendor. CBZ'S parts are availble, but costs a BOMB. This is the area where Bajaj scores bigtime.

Regarding the milage factor, i dont actually dont care about it, as long as the performance is good

and as i already said, The engine of DTSi is better than CBZ, its the design that has the flaws

One more big question is will we see a Hero Honda n Honda Motorcycle n scooter india(HMSI) merger in near future...i personally dont see a reason for them goin separate ways now when bigger brother, honda is already in india...atleast then we can hope to see bigger n better hondas plyin on our humble streets..!!

there was a plan to update the c bz....... test model was already used for testing ,,,,but due to there aggrement with honda they had to cancel that plan....

They are going to get seperated in sometime 2006 (??) and Hero Honda will be Hero India or something like that

CBZ rocks only in looks and engine exhaust note

Pulsar looks better, which planet are you from?

Pulsar tank looks like a busuri's hotte and exhaust sounds like a hoosu

I agree..to me..Pulsar luks better than CBZ..but thts jus a matter of personal tastes...
BTW..i still love tht gud ol' round headlamp on the pulsar...tht beaky new fairin is not my cup of tea..i think its not as macho lukin as the round headlamp was...but thts jus me..
Thankgod the kick start DTSI still comes wid a round headlamp...

oh yeah.. me too.. i like Pulsar better than CBZ.. but if not for CBZ, i dont think we wud have had Pulsar in its present form.

CBZ looked awesome when it was launched though

xactly!!! i just adored those first CBZ ads with gurls n guy riding his bro's CBZ.....

CBZ is the best..period!! What it lacks in top speed is made up by the best in class handling and awesome braking!!!
BTW i have a red CBZ

DTSi 150 maybe faster in a straight line...but overall the CBZ is the best coz the DTSI doesnt handle anywhere as good as the CBZ and the disc on the Pulsars isnt so good. The CBZ also has a better riding postion.
The DTSI 150 has the all up or all down gearshift(i am not sure) while the CBZ has the 1 down 4 up pattern which more suited for sporty riding.
And also the build quality of the Pulsar is no match for a Hero Honda.

I am saying this coz i have been on a CBZ n Pulsar both.

main reason i hate Pulsar 150.....the best reason i like a Puls 180

actually cbz has bettr straight acceleration

Actually, i too hate the new lamp of pulsar.

Rode a Splendor, caliber,RX 135, CBZ, Pulsar, Karizma and Eliminator for one month each. I want to leave Eliminator out of this as its a Cruiser

Among them the classification out of 10

Bike Pickup Top Sp.D Breaking Handeling Mileage Final
Splendor Fair 90 KMPH Good Good 70 KMPL 8/10
Caliber Fair 95 KMPH Good Good 60 KMPL 7/10
RX 135 Excellent 110 KMPH Good Good 42 KMPL 8.6/10
CBZ Excellent 115 KMPH Excellent Excellent 40 KMPL 9.4/10
Pulsar DTSi Good 110 KMPH Great Good 55 KMPL 9/10

I too have a CBZ and I too prefer it to the Pulsar anyday. The better riding position, grip and acceleration make it better than the pulsar in my book. Though now with the advent of the Unicorn, I think it will be better than both the CBZ and the Pulsar.

Re: Which 150cc bike is the class best?

    Honda rules.........

wen i got pulsar 150 dtsi ...i was glad .but after 4 yrs it started malfunctioning.with all worse avg....
hooting gear box.poor balance and pain in back while drivine for long...
so i sold the crunch for 20000.n went for unicorn premium.

n believe me its like riding on wing .on butter.sooo smooth ..swift gear box shift .n extremly highest pick up in all its 150 class of 60 km\hr in just 5 sec...(leave yamha r15 60 km in 4 sec.) ...n best thing it follows physics and best aerodynamics as its the design of worlds 5 largest auto maker HONDA....and its monoshock is awesome. with creating center of gravity on rear tyre. it gives better stability........

n evry one knows about the avg. of unicorn .its among best nearly 55-60 km\lt in city condi.

also the another thing i noted here is in monsoons n in slippry roads ..other bikes except extreme and unicorn usually slips when turnning at high speed because just for looks the bajaj n other hav provided very wide rear tyres.but in turn it has resulted in poor stability nd poor avg......however unicorn caters prescibed AOC-iso certified ..scientifically recommended rear tyres with double coated nylon layer refined by tef-23 coat so as to grip road in water as well

so unicorn premium is now all refined with the improved loook enough to overrule pulsar's ..because afterall bull type looks r now loosing there charm...mostly because it creates impression of rude personality.however unicorn's sleek luk gives rider the touch of gentelman..however the only drawback i saw in unicorn still is......lack of powerfull battery......,horn.,xenon lights,,n digi audumeter......

so decision is all urs.go n check.best of luk
