SM Bus Controller Driver

I just reformatted my Seagate Hard drive and reinstall windows xp. All was working fine except SM Bus Controller. I have try to search for SM Bus Controller in device manager but no fix.... Can any one tell me what is a "SM Bus Controller" and from where can i download it's driver.

SMBus is the System Management Bus, It is used in personal computers and servers for low-speed system management communications.The SM Bus Controller is the main chipset on the motherboard. The main chipset is the one that communicates with all the other hardware and chips and is usually the largest chip on the mainboard besides the cpu.

If Device Manager shows a yellow question mark for the SMBus controller driver then you need to download and install the Installation Intel Chipset Software Utility after that restart the computer and no more errors.

The SMBus Controller (or system bus controller) is part of the Intel chipset. It monitors your system board's temperature and voltage. For missing driver you will need to find the CD that came with the computer that contains the hardware drivers. The arrows indicate that the hardware is installed in your computer case.
