Creative Zen Nomad Xtra 30G - MTP "not an installed service" (?)

I've got one for you. Zen Nomad Xtra,(love it, have for years) firmware
2.10.03 (went round-round, uninstalled everything, rollback WMP11 to WMP10 to
get the firmware to finish installing, all OK now on Compaq notebook). Now
on HP desktop 'Add Hardware Window' I get "MTP Device" "The specified service
does not exist as an installed service". In DevMngr it shows Nomad Jukebox
Xtra with "!" "reinstall drivers". Installed all the Creative stuff and
updates.
The Nomad is recog. with my HP notebook fine too. All 3 computers have
Windows XP, SP2, the latest windows updates, and WMP 10 (hate wmp11, deleted
my song licenses when I rolled back, also no license management options).
All this "PlaysForSure" just makes things worse. I've tried all the
Knowledge base stuff at Creative and Microsoft. The HP desktop has Windows
Media Center. Got any ideas??? THANKS!!!
