| Can't Change Display Properties
Recently I attempted to change my screensaver and was not able to even open up the display window . I have searched EVERYWHERE for an answer to my problem, and I can't afford to set my computer back to manufacture basics because I have my whole life on this computer. I even downloaded the most recent driver for my video card and still no success. Please help! |

DETAILS I FORGOT TO ADD: When I try to open "Display" in the Control Panel, the error I get is; "An exception occured while trying to run "C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL "C:\WINDOWS\system32\desk.cpl",Display"" AND I don't think I have an install CD for my computer. the platform was pre-installed with my computer and the only CD I think was included is a Restore CD. |

What happens if you right click on unused space on your desktop and select properties? If that does not work what happens if you try the same thing after booting in safe mode with an F8 boot? When I attempt to right click an unused space of my desktop, an visual studio just-in-time debugger shows up, but I doubt that has anything to do with the problem or solution because before I put VB on my system the same error as display in control panel occured, and also occurs in safe mode (when I can get to it... my computer doesnt like going to safe mode) "Curious" wrote: > What happens if you right click on unused space on your desktop and select > properties? > If that does not work what happens if you try the same thing after booting > in safe mode with an F8 boot? |

Have you been able to run a full antivirus scan while in safemode? "Famous Freedom" <FamousFreedom@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:8B923409-386A-4F2F-8021-BE233E5713EE@microsoft.com... > Still don't know what to do, anyone have any idea? |
