Error in Media Ctr after removing Norton 'Unable to Launch SymAddI

I few seconds after entering Windows Media Player, I get a message saying
"Unable to Launch SymAddIn". This started happening right after I uninstalled
Norton.

I did a search on this site and another person had this problem a long time
ago, but she was just directed to Norton's web site. I called HP and they
couldn't help.

Does anyone know what SymAddIn even is? I've search extensively on the web
and can find no help.

Did you mean when you start Media Center (not Media Player)?

That file is associated with Symantec programs (like Norton Security Suite),
it may be due to an incomplete uninstall if you used to have it or upgraded.
The Norton/Symantec site is probably the correct place to find a solution.

That's funny, I did a search for "Unable to Launch SymAddIn" and found a
wealth of information about it.

Visit Norton's website and download and run their removal tool, that may
take care of it.
