| How can I remove a folder of folders from Media Center?
Media Center (Vista) makes it easy to *add* a folder full of pictures to your Media Center library. But when you go and *remove* that same folder from your library, nothing happens. All of the photos are still there in your library - there doesn't seem to be any way to get rid of them. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Thanks! Editorial: Microsoft, you really gotta fix this one. If anyone in the family accidentally adds a folder full of photos that they don't want everyone else to see, or don't want to appear when their friends are over and they're showing off their new Media Center, there appears to be no way to remove them. Now *that's* a privacy concern. |

I found the answer to this on another forum, so I'll post it here: Essentially, Windows Media Player controls all media indexing, even if you view those media in Windows Media Center or Windows Photo Gallery. To remove these folder from those two other apps, you need to go into Windows Media Center and: 1. make sure your lirary is set up to watch the right folders. (Library -> More Options -> Library -> Monitor Folders 2. make sure to delete the old media that are still indexed in WMP. Go to Library. Then switch from Music to Pictures. Then go ahead and delete all the ones that you don't want indexed. As a last resort, you can always blow away your WMP database file and have it rebuild. Hope this helps. -Sean "Sean" <seanpur@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:665E0470-EE3A-4F6E-A28F-3E369D968532@microsoft.com... > Media Center (Vista) makes it easy to *add* a folder full of pictures to > your Media Center library. Where is the WMP in Windows Vista Home Premium? I found a database, but removal didn't remove the unwanted folders in the library. Thanks for your help.
