    Problem with WMP update KB936782

My system running Windows XP SP2 had installed some updates and since then when i am trying to run windows media player i get an error message saying "The file wmp.dll has a version number of 11.0.5721.5145 where 11.0.5721.5230 was expected". I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling windows media player 11 but that's not making any difference. What should i do now??? Is there anyone who can help me out???

If you are quite sure that "Windows media player" has got messed up after your Windows XP SP2 installed some recommended windows updates than i will suggest you to do a system restore. You can perform system restore to a point when your Windows media player was working fine. System restore will erase all the changes that might have been made in to your system prior that update. If you want to know about the programs that might get affected because of system restore than you can check out the affected program list. you can make note of the programs so as to install then later.
