Windows Media Won't Recognize DVD/CD Burner

Alright so I've searched for my problem before, and while there have been
some topics about it, there's always the same answer that leads to another
"Help" page, which isn't the greatest help. I have a CD Burner and a combo
DVD/CD Burner installed. What's different about my problem is that Device
Manager does recognize my drives, as does iTunes, but Windows Media is the
only one that fails to recognize it. While I do enjoy iTunes, Windows Media
Player is so much easier to burn audia files on to a CD. Thanks for any help
given...

Go to options->devices->add

Alright so when I do that, it leads to me to Window's Website on a page of
devices such as MP3 players and such. Not exactly what I need. I thought it
would help to tell you though that when I go to My Computer, the CD/DVD
Burner, Properties, the drive doesn't have the "Recording" tab which I think
is needed....

RE: Windows Media Won't Recognize DVD/CD Burner

I had the same problem with MP 11.
I have uninstalled Media Player 11 & reverted back to MP 10.
I went into "Services.msc" & "started" IMAPI CD Burning com service & put it
on "automatic.
I am now able to burn a CD. I can only assume the problem was with MP 11

Did you find a resolution to your "connect a burner and restart the player"
message? I'm having the same problem.
