    Media Center Crash - ehshell.exe

I have got a HP computer that is running on Media Center which came preinstalled on it, and it has recently started to crash when I am trying to open it, and giving me 2 error messages:

    1. ehshell.exe - Bad Image DLL
    C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\mscorwks.dll is not a valid
image. Please check this against you installation diskette

    2. C:\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\mscorwks.dll could not be loaded

Is there anyone who can tell me how to rectify this issue? Thanks

It seems to me that the .net framework you have in your computer is corrupted. Som try to uninstall the .net framework 1.1 completely from your computer by going into the Add and Remove Programs and then download the .net Framework cleanup tool from here - http://cid-27e6a35d1a492af7.skydrive...eanup_tool.zip. After that reinstall the .net framework 1.1 and also the service packs which will fix the issue for you.

I've had the same problem a few days ago, and I've fixed it by:

    1. Going to Control Panel\Add or Remove Programs, and look for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005\Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 KB925766, click on Click here for support information

    2. Click on the link from the popup window, it will lead you to a page where you can download and reinstall the October 2006 Update Rollup for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (KB925766).

Or you can just go straight to the download page by the URL: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...c2b9...31-b08e

    3. Restart your computer.

This fixed the problem for me, so I hope it'll do the same for you.
