Decoder Error

Hi,

I Media Center PC with Black Gold Digital Tuner. I am trying to watch a DVD using the Media Center but it came up with Decode Error malfunction or not installed. I also tried to watch to watch using the Windows Media Player 10 but also came up with a decoder error.

If you are running MCE 2005 (or earlier) check your MPEG2/DVD decoder with this utility

Dscaler 5 is the only free MPEG2 decoder that works in MCE that I know of. It is an early
development release but doesn't seem to have been updated in over a year

The basic Nvidia decoder only costs about $20 & is reckoned by many to be the best.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I have downloaded the utility to check my MPEG-2 Decoder and I found out that there are no MPEG-2 Decoder installed on my PC.

How and where could I get any free MPEG-2 Decoder?Thanks for the replies, My problem has been sorted.
