| Connect Direct Using Crossover Cable
I am using a crossover cable to connect two laptops together. When I sent up the new connection, the "connect directly to another computer" option is grayed out. What am I doing wrong? Thank you. -- peggriff |

Use a crossover only if you do not have a hub or switch. Read the Window XP Help and support on "To make a direct network connection". You can find it in help by searching for "direct connect" no quotes. You also may need to setup File and Printer sharing on both computers. There is a wizard for that also. In My Network Places (on the start menu) under network tasks. "Setup a home or small office network". Or Control panel > Network setup wizard. -- CSM1 http://www.carlmcmillan.com -- |
