Realtek HD sound effect manager and headphones

Hi,
I like to use headphones a lot, and when i use them, the control panel
device, Realtek HD sound effect manager, detects them and confirms that i
want to use them.
For some reason, i can't seem to start up the program and so cannot use my
headphones. Is there any way to fix this and/or any way to make headphone
use not dependant on realtek?

It should also be on the rught end of the task bar. Rt click->select
manager. If the driver hasn't been corrupted, you can also select
headphones through the Sounds and Audio Devices in the control panel.

You could google for the manager and download a new one.
