Unable to logon to Windows XP locally - No logon box

Am sorry if this is wrong section for this query but I’m in need of urgent help. I have a Active Directory domain with Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 server with XP clients. When I boot this computer I get the blue background with mouse cursor properly but I don’t get any option saying “Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to login.” The only way I can login to this system is from Remote computer. When I checked the Event Viewer I found this error:

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Userenv
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 1085
    Date: 3/12/2007
    Time: 8:50:16 AM
    User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
    Computer: EDMONTON1
    Description:
The Group Policy client-side extension Security failed to execute. Please
look for any errors reported earlier by that extension.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Problem solved. It was actually a video card problem. I have 2 monitors on this system. Duh.
