I have the same problem. I get the same blank window, a few minutes after having booted the computer. Getting rid of it via Ctrl+Alt+Del\Task Manager then keeps it away for good (for the remainder of the session that is). Seems strange that no knowledgeable person has a fix for this frustrating thing (I'm far from being a computer geek myself). Anyway, who knows, it might still happen... Cheers. Unfortunately not but... you know what... the problem has disappeared by itself... God knows what was causing it... will we ever know... frustrating, isn't it? Hi - I've had the same problem since I upgraded to VISTA in the Spring. HP's techs online had me recover my PC back to XP and then reinstall VISTA. Well that didn't help. After re installing VISTA for the next couple of days I was installing programs that I use back on my PC and the blank page came back. I tried to do a SYSTEM RESTORE back to the previous day when it was working fine, that would work for a while but the "blank page" would return. Up until now the only way I get rid of it is by right clicking anywhere on the blank screen and then click onto "view source", then I have to click on to "allow program" and then I get my task bar back and from there I can close the two tabs out. I did try sending it to my desktop and I'd get a blank icon and I'd right click on that and tried to delete it. I remember thinking that this can't possibly be it! It wasn't. I, too ,receive a Blank Pge - Windows Internet Explorer out of nowhere! VERY annoying and has cost me work. No idea where it comes from but it will happen within a few minutes of rebooting my computer. Task manager is the only way to get rid of it until tthe next reboot. If anyone knows a way to permanently get rid of this, i am all ears. "Ross" wrote: > Hi - I've had the same problem since I upgraded to VISTA in the Spring. Hi - I hope this is good news for you I found out a while ago what the problem was in my case anyway. I had a program called magentic from incredimail that caused the problem. I can use the incredimail okay but not the other. I had to go to Start>Search>"type in systems configuration">start up tab>uncheck it. That took care of it. Weeks later I tried to go back to the program to see if they had any updates and as soon as I did I got the blank page. I got off of that real quick! I hope that you have that program because if you do then I can safely say it is causing your headache! Ross "Kerry" wrote: > I, too ,receive a Blank Pge - Windows Internet Explorer out of nowhere! Great! I am pretty sure that will solve the problem. I tried letting incredimail know about it but it fell on deaf hears! I too am an unfortunate victim after every reboot. I find the quickest solution is to click alt+delete then select C from the drop down list. Awaiting a solution. Thanks! Finally! I also have Incredimail and Magentic. I did not know what was causing the blank page. It would pop up anytime the computer would go online or check for new e-mail etc... as far as I could figure. I get rid of it by pressing the windows button on my keyboard, then I get the task bar and can right click and close the blank window...much faster than having to use task manager. But I will try what you suggested and hope that takes care of it. I did contact Incredimail and Magentic, and they are working on the updates for better compatibility with Vista. -- lindy "blank page saga" wrote: > Hi - I hope this is good news for you I found out a while ago what the > problem was in my case anyway. Hi! I seem to be having the same IE problem but I am not running the other software bits you mentioned. I tried to do the start/search thing you recommended but did not have enough information (in terms of the exact steps of the search) to successfully execute it. It may not help that I am on Windows XP Home (serv 2). start/search brings up the stupid query "where do you want to look and then I'm not sure what you mean by "type system configuration" I apologize for my lack of windows savvy, I use a different OS. I am trying to solve this problem for my father so I would appreciate any help that may still be out there. Thanks!
