Can't turn on sharing in WPM11 & Vista

If I am trying to click the Library tab of Windows Media Player 11 to "Share Media" then I am getting a message that states "Media sharing has been turned off because a required Windows setting or component has changed. For additional assistance, click Web Help". I have done many things to solve it just wont allow the Roku network music player that I am using. Is there anyone who can solve this problem? Thanks

Firts of all click on Start and then go to Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Services and then check if you have all of these services enabled and started or not and set it to start on boot:

Windows media player network sharing services
    SSDP Discovery Service
Universal Plug & Play device host
    HTTP SSL service

Also, did you try to update your computer to Vista from Windows XP, or was it a clean install of Vista?

I have already checked these settings and the Universal Plug and Play device host HTTP SSL service was not listed in the services? And by the way, Vista was preinstalled on the new computer that I am having.

    Having the same problem!

Hello, I am using Windows XP on my computer and I have already roll back Windows Media Player back to 9 version which was preinstalled in my computer and then I again reinstalled everything with no success. How can I solve this thing?

You simply need to go to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player and delete all the files in there. After that try to start up Windows Media Player again and then re-specify what all folders you want to watch and let it recreate your library. After that you can start sharing again and re-register the Xbox 360 as a Media Center Extender.
