Warning file missing: swflash.ocx. How to reinstall?

I am running Windows XP and I have recently install 50 plus Windows Security updates but I forgot to disable the antivirus that I have in my computer. I therefore got a immediate warning that "MSInteractive Training: Warning File Missing: SWFlash.ocx. File required for normal operation. Please exit & re-install this product from your cd or network to restore this critical file." Can anyone tell me how do I proceed further with any kind of CD which it is asking? Thanks

I think that the error message that you are getting is probably related to the Flash Player and it might be only needed for some websites or programs that use Flash Content. You can go to the adobe websites and download it, its not a virus at all by the way.

I am not a computer expert but I did find and install the Flash Player update but am still getting the warning that is appearing when I open "Learn XP", which is a microsoft Interactive Training course that comes with audio. I also checked the missing swflash.ocx file that was related to MusicMatch. Is that also a Flash player. So, am I suppose to install a new Flash Player again from Adobe.

This error can be safely ignored. When the error is displayed, click OK to allow the Microsoft Interactive Training module to continue to load. To prevent the error from displaying every time the Microsoft Interactive
Training module is loaded:

1. First of all open C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
2. After that right click the file flash.ocx and select Copy
3. Now you have to right click anywhere in the folder and select Paste
4. After that rename the COPY to swflash.ocx

I only modified them slightly as follows:

1. Open C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash

2. Right click the file flash.ocx and select “Copy”.

My mod: (I selected Flash9f.ocx instead of Flash.ocx file because
Flash9f.ocx had a more recent date, namely, 2008-03-24 versus
2004-07-17.)

3. Right click anywhere in the folder and select “Paste”

4. Rename the COPY to swflash.ocx

5. My mod: I registered the new file in the Windows registry by running:

REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Macromed\Flash\SWFlash.ocx
