No Sound from Line-in (Vista RC1)

Brand new eMachines T5048A (hardware).
Today install old tuner card and Mainconcept MCE-Encoder (demo software).
TV878's Audio Out cable into Sound-Card Line-in.
Stoik PVR will display video portion. There is no sound.
Windows Media Center does not rocognize any TV card.
OEM PVR-Plus does not interface with Mainconcept MCE-Encoder.

Can PVR software adapt to Line-In on VISTA ?

Sound has to connect to the sound in connector on your TV Tuner/video-audio
in card not to the Line in on your audio card.
Media Center will only recognize a TV card whose drivers meet the MCE
compatible DVB interface which provides MPEG2 encoded video to MCE. Normally
the encoding is provided by a hardware encoder chip on the TV tuner/video
capture card, however, some vendors have used software encoders in their MCE
drivers to do the encoding which consumes a lot of CPU power and is not
approved by Microsoft.
