USRprbda.exe DLL Initialization Failed

When shutting down Windows XP Home, the warning appears: "USRprbda.exe DLL
Initialization Failed."

Any ideas?

RE: USRprbda.exe DLL Initialization Failed

I have Media Center 2005 and I get the same thing on shutdown. I believe it
is the modem that is in your computer. USRobotics most probably. The .exe
is loaded in your startup folder. I have been getting the error ever since
patching a MCE2004 installation with SP2.

RE: USRprbda.exe DLL Initialization Failed

FYI - I solved it by deselecting "3cpipe-USRpda" on the Start-up tab in
msconfig.

RE: USRprbda.exe DLL Initialization Failed

Found a better solution. I think deselecting that will disable caller ID in
Media Center. Go to control panel -->Modems Click on the modem and REMOVE.
SHUT DOWN the computer. When windows boots back up it will reinstall modem.
Problem solved. Don't ask.....just do. :-)
