Yes run regedit and set "ShowGallery"="Gallery".[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Media Center\Settings\DvdSettings] "ShowGallery"="Gallery") -- Richard A Miller MCE mvp http://www.microsoft.com/mvp "PatrickV30" wrote: > Anyway to get Vista Media Center to play dvd's from harddisk? |

After you have add the "Gallery" to the registry, it will now say "Dvd Library" on the main startup page of Vista, click on dvd Library then right click and add dvds from you hard drive. -- Richard A Miller MCE mvp http://www.microsoft.com/mvp "Richard Miller" wrote: > Yes run regedit and set > "ShowGallery"="Gallery".[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Media > Center\Settings\DvdSettings] > "ShowGallery"="Gallery") > > > -- > Richard A Miller MCE mvp > http://www.microsoft.com/mvp > > > > > "PatrickV30" wrote: > > > Anyway to get Vista Media Center to play dvd's from harddisk? |

These are already unencrypted rips, right? You can't just copy a DVD to the hard drive and have this work...??? The only way I could switch DVD movies was to exit and restart Media Center. Also, does the fact that this feature is hidden by default in Vista RC1 imply that the feature might not be there at all in the GA version? If so then Media Center would be immediatly disqualified from my use as my media center user interface. |

Oh and to reply to your question about "does the fact that this feature is hidden by default in Vista RC1 imply that the feature might not be there at all in the GA version?" No it will be there in final release. It is used for the DVD changers like the 200 disc sony etc. Its by design but not specifically an option. sprior913 wrote: > "Richard Miller" wrote: > > > Yes run regedit and set > > "ShowGallery"="Gallery".[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Media > > Center\Settings\DvdSettings] > > "ShowGallery"="Gallery") > > > Has anyone else noticed that with Vista RC1 after making this regedit change > that you can start playing one movie, but if you stop it and pick another and > hit play on the other movie, that the first one resumes playing instead?
