huge problem with my Media Center. Eshell.exe error message.

I’m using a Gateway PC with Windows XP Media Center Edition. System is running fine except Media Center. Whenever I launch MC I use to get an error message with eshell.exe saying:

“Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process id=ox8f4 (2292), Thread id=0xfb0 (4016).”

Bad part is that when I contact Microsoft regarding this error, they say they cannot help because it is related to Gigabyte and when I try contacting Gigabyte, they say problem is with Windows so contact Microsoft. This is ridiculous. Can anyone here please help me out? Thank you.

Yes, it is ridiculous. How old is your Gateway PC? Isn’t it in Warranty anymore? You should better make a conference call with Gateway and Microsoft both. They should know that not taking care of their own customers.

Did you made any changes in systems hardware or operating system that could break the warranty? If no, you must take it to gateway and tell them to fix it because they own you the service. If it's no more in warranty, when did this problem started? Also is the problem with only Media Center or with entire XP operating system?
