Xbox 360 and Windows Media Player 12 not working together

Hello friends, I am facing a problem with Windows Media Player 12 and Xbox 360, both of them are been linked up. The Xbox 360 is not being seen in the network streaming options in Windows Media Player 12 and also PC is not showing the Xbox 360 connection page. Before I was using the RTM version windows 7 which has worked fine for me, but after upgrading it doesnt seem to work. Please help me? Thank you

I would suggest that you better check that both of Xbox 360 and WMP are there on the same network and also the media sharing is activated or not. Even check that Xbox 360 is having the access to the media share.

I have enabled all the settings and the streaming is been set on and also the home network is setup properly but then also it could not be found. Windows Media Player 12 Media sharing is enabled and it is set to automatic startup. Now I am thinking to try something else, will go for TVersity.

I am also using both of them and not getting any problem, it is just working fine. I think that you might not have added your personal folders to Manage Libraries in WMP12 which is there under the Organizer. What I have done is that I have allowed the permission to all the devices. I do not think that anyone will be going to hack the WEP or WPA, one more thing which I would like to tell that I have turned off the Password protection which might be able to help you.

I have already gone through the same problem which you are facing at present. Even I was using the windows 7 manager and found that it was been blocking the sharing, so it just un-applied the changes and then it found the Xbox 360 straight away, it is been re-applied and working very much fine, so I would suggest that use the windows 7 manager to solve this problem.

Wanted to add something, when you will turn on the streaming for the first time then it will be set up with the homegroup. But for some particular reason I have left the homegroup and again turned on streaming again, then that time it has asked me to enable the streaming. If you have setup the homegroup then you will not be seen the Xbox connected with the PC, if you leave homegroup and turn on media streaming then it will been seen in the list.

I would say that it might be the problem of any firewall software that you have installed in your computer. Even I was also getting the same problem but it was due to kaspersky firewall, but after when I disabled the firewall then it has worked for me perfectly.
