| Vista Mediacenter lost sound
I'm running Vista 64 ultimate with a Compro TV V300/V500 TV tuner. My TV tuner has been working OK using Mediacenter. I have recently installed a Mediacenter remote, which also installed an MPEG-2 encoder. I now get no sound when using Mediacenter to watch TV, also if I go to Mediacenter setup, When I try and configure sound and speakers I get no sound at all, but I still get sound if I don't use mediacenter. I presume this is down to the MPEG-2 encoder. I have tried system restore, uninstalling programs and even using SFC with no change. Any suggestions please? |

Is it with SP2? Try to uninstall and reinstall the TV Tuner card as well as audio drivers. regards, S.Sengupta[MS-MVP] "Neil" <Neil@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:A7B5E47E-3C71-4786-B223-2DCDD684F8B8@microsoft.com... > I'm running Vista 64 ultimate with a Compro TV V300/V500 TV tuner. > > My TV tuner has been working OK using Mediacenter. > I have recently installed a Mediacenter remote, which also installed an > MPEG-2 encoder. > I now get no sound when using Mediacenter to watch TV, also if I go to > Mediacenter setup, When I try and configure sound and speakers I get no > sound > at all, but I still get sound if I don't use mediacenter. > > I presume this is down to the MPEG-2 encoder. > I have tried system restore, uninstalling programs and even using SFC with > no change. > > Any suggestions please? > > > __________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus > signature database 4482 (20091005) __________ > > The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. > > http://www.eset.com > > > __________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 4485 (20091006) __________ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com |

| Vista Media center lost sound
Thanks for that. Had uninstalled TV card before, but uninstalling sound card apears to have cured the problem.
