Video Error:Files needed to display vidoe ar not installed or not working correctly.

I have been getting this error when watching recorded, or paused tv. HP
support is clueless.

Any ideas? Could it be connected to the analog to digital transition?

Re: Video Error:Files needed to display vidoe ar not installed or not working correctly.

This error normally is referring to a problem with MC having a problem with
your TV tuner/video capture card or its drivers and not to a problem with
your graphics/video output card.
You can confirm this by playing a DVD in MC and not receiving the same
error.
What tuner(s) do you have installed and how are they configured with MC?
Have you confirmed that you have the latest drivers for it/them from tuner
card vendors Website?
What release of what OS are using to run the MC application?
What Decoder software are you using?

You may perform a System Restore-Select any restore point when there was no
such issue.

Other things you can do-reinstalling and updating the audio as well as the
TV tuner drivers.

Forgot to add that if you have Audigy [SoundBlaster Audigy.] then update the
audio driver.
