Security Update KB956572 In Loop

Security Update KB956572 downloads, but fails to install, then wants to start
all over again downloading itself. An endless loop and I do not know what to
do about it.

In Add/Uninstall Software I found where this update had an entry. Thinking
it was corrupted, I uninstalled it, and rebooted my XP Pro SR-3. The loop
still exists.

I wrote to Microsoft's "contact us" which suggested I come here. If anyone
could tell me how to eliminate this problem I would appreciate it.

There can be many reasons for the failure. Are you getting any events in the
application event log. Check the setup log file on the system for possible
causes.

Thank you very much for answering. I did a search for setup log, opened it
up, and attempted to paste it into here but it's too long for this reply
post. I'm really not sure what I am supposed to be looking for. Can you
advise please?
