Cannot play avi flies error message C00D1199

I have the latest Windows Media Player and it cannot play avi flies, can
anyone tell me how to fix this problem. Please e-mail me at

The GSpot program http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ can be used to open
AVI files and decide what codec (decoder) is required for playback.

Have a try with that (File -> Open) and write down some of the video
codec properties. Quite often, they're using the DivX codec which you
can get from http://www.divx.com/en/products/software/windows/divx to
enable playback in WMP of DivX and XVid AVI files.
