    Green screen on playback

I’m running windows Vista computer having both Media Player as well Media Center. I also have two cards, that is GeForce 8400GS (which I use most of the time) and Nvidia GEForce 7300GT. Now the problem is when I play any movie in either Media Center or Media player with GeForce 8400GS connected, I get Green Screen with audio (no video). If I play the same movie at the same time in VLC, it plays fine.

On other hand, when I connect GEForce 7300GT, there is no green screen in media player or media center and everything works fine. So the problem is only with GeForce 8400GS but I use it because it supports HDMI out with audio. I tried updating card’s drivers to most recent version but that dint solved the problem.

Any idea what could be wrong with GeForce 8400GS and how can I fix it? Many thanks for your helps.

Before I could suggest anything, I would like to know whether you are running any Service Pack on your Vista? Also do you have any codec packs installed?

Meanwhile try changing nVidia settings. This may fix the green screen problem.

    Re: Green screen on playback

Did you installed Sp1 recently before the problem started? I guess so because SP1 may also be the cause of problem. It may be worth a try to uninstall it and then download the complete file to your hard drive and re-install it from there.
