MS Wireless Keyboard 1000

Microsoft Wireless keyboard 1000 bought this week contains no documentation
to explain how to use all of the keys. For example, on all keyboards I have
ever used the F5 key is pressed to get a refresh of any page I am viewing.
On the 1000 keyboard F5 appears to open a file. There are icons shown on
every function key, but there is no documentation to show what feature is
executed when a function key is clicked. Nor is there any information to
explain how to program the function keys or the special keys that are on the
keyboard. I need documentation that shows each key on the keyboard and
explains how to use it.

Re: MS Wireless Keyboard 1000

When F Lock is off, the commands on the top of the key are operational
When F Lock is on, the commands on the bottom edge of the keys are
operational.

Re: MS Wireless Keyboard 1000

You should have a Microsoft Keyboard application that installs with your
keyboard software that came with your keyboard.
You use that program to see what the keys are programmed to do and to change
the defaults.

Keyboard problems with MS 1000

Sorry, but the CD that installed the software for the keyboard does not
appear to have such a file. Perhaps if you know the name of that file I can
look for it on the CD.

Keyboard problems with MS Wireless Media Desktop 1000

I went to the site you identified, but there is no documentation that I see
there. Please be more specific and give me a step by step entry to get the
"How to Guide, Product Documentation" for the MS Wireless Desktop 1000.
Thank you.

I am trying to use the function keys, F! through F12. They have no
designation that I can see on the edge of the keys. I am used to having F5
do a refresh of a screen I am viewing, However, F5 on this new keyboard
brings up a dialog to Open a File. How do I program the key to do a refresh?
How do I program the other F keys to do what I want? Your patience and help
is appreciated.

Re: MS Wireless Keyboard 1000

You should see the F Lock key along the top of the keybaord somewhere.
Enable it and you'll get the normal function key functionality back

Re: Keyboard problems with MS 1000

The latest versions of any Microsoft software are available online. I
wouldn't bother with the ones on the cd, as they are probably out of date
anyways.

Thank you--since my last reply to you, I have found the documentation off of
my START button. Pressing the F Lock key reverts the keyboard to its classic
uses; e.g. F5 now refreshes.
