xbox 360 says media center is connected but still wont connect to hp dv6636nr vista home premium pc

I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 (dv6636nr) laptop, vista home premium with microsoft's firewall, and I can't connect to the 360 through the media center extender. When I test the connection with network settings on the NXE it says it's connected. When I try to connect it says "The xbox 360 was unable to prepare a connection to the windows vista media center-based pc. Restart your xbox 360 and try again." I have tried everything that I can find that would help me with this error and nothing. I have heard people have problems with hp's because of fingerprint scanners but my computer doens't have this. Is there any other program or reason why it won't connect. I've redone the certification, plugged every possible cable combination for the network, turned off the firewall, and nothing works. Please help. It also didn't work before NXE. Been almost 2 months now of searching through forums.

I've been searching for a solution to the same problem.

What Ive found is that a lot of people are having the same problem who have
a HP laptop and have resolved the problem by uninstalling the fingerprint
scanner.
