Podcasts in Windows Media Player and .mp4a files

I want to convert my music library to Windows Media Player because it works better with WMP. I right now, have more than 200 CD's in my online library. I am using iTunes for one and only reason and that is the ability to download via Podcasts. So, is there a way to subsribe to podcasts in Windows Media Player and download all those automatically and watch them similarly like in Itunes?

I have also purchased too many .MP4a audio files from the itunes store adn since due to some problem I had to install Windows XP from fresh and also all the software and data as well, but since then I cannot burn .mP4a files to a CD by using Itunes. So, I was wondering if I change the file type of these .mp4a files to .mp3 or .mp4 then will it play properly in Windows Media Player and will I be able to burn them to a CD as well in WMP. What about the audio quality, will it drop or remain the same. Thanks for any guidance.

Re: Podcasts in Windows Media Player and .mp4a files

You can use Windows Media Player Podcasting Plug-Ins such as Doppler which is a free podcast aggregator. It?s a tool to subscribe to RSS feeds which supply downloadable files. Doppler will go out and fetch the files enclosed in the RSS feed and will automatically add them to your preferred media player. And it does this in a very smooth unattended manner. It?s simple! Really. And if you are not able to burn the .mp4a files in Itunes then you can surely try to change the extension of the file type and then burn it in Windows Media Player.

Even I think that it is not possible to use Podcast on Windows Media Player since it is not supported. You will have to get Zune Player or somethine else instead since it has a great podcast support and also you dont have to use a Zune Device to use it either. On another note, you can also try different mp3 converters, which are freely available for download, to convert the .mp4a files to mp3 file or wav file, etc.
