Windows Media Player- Connect to Burner and restart burn

I have down loaded the the New Media Player 11, and now I'm not able to burn
any CD's also system doesn't finded my (E) drive. I have gone thru the do
this and do that still not getting any where. Please can anyone help me?

Have you got Roxio software installed on your PC which comes with
"direct to disk" burn functionality ? That's one thing which can
prevent media player seeing the CD burner (though you should still be
able to play CDs from it).

In some cases, other software will insert "filters" between the device
hardware and driver software and windows, which make it not visible
any more as a drive in windows explorer - I think that's what you mean
by your "E Drive" above.

The steps on this page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060 should
remove those filters, though they'll break whatever software has
broken windows view of the CD drive.
