I cant seem to uninstall it cuz vista has alsorts of dumb rules... like im admin and it wont let me delete it from C drive.. Updates are on i tryed changing the folder it rips to and the quality ect but no matter what it just closes its self when i touch that rip tab.. anyone know how to fix this or if there is another player out there that will auto update track info after ripping a cd? |

| Re: Vista 11.0.6000.6344, Crash on rip tab How did Voxware get on your system? This looks to be a crash in the Voxware codec (msms001.vwp , to be precise) Open regedit Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Driver32 Right click msacm.voxacm160 and rename it to bad.msacm.voxacm160 Does this fix you up? You're awsome!..thanks. that did it. Anything else I should do to "remove it"??? I had to put that @#$* on my system because I need to listen to audio from a digital recorder at work and it's stored as a .vox file. I uninstalled that program in trying to figure this out but obviously it left behind some....stuff...unless you know of a codec for .vox, I'll be tring to get that recorder changed! Thanks again, PS I did a 'bad'....I posted on the vista music, pictures & video discussion because this was from Oct. I thought it might be dead....I learned my lesson, SORRY "zachd [MSFT]" wrote: > > How did Voxware get on your system? I'm going to check w/ our Communications IT guy to see if there are other formats that can be used. I'm not sure exactly what the hardware/software is. On our XP machines we use "Bravo player". It seems to be the only thing that can play this format....I was trying to get the codec into WMP11....well now we know what happens w/ that.....Thanks again! "zachd [MSFT]" wrote: > > Seriously? | Re: Vista 11.0.6000.6344, Crash on rip tab I would really like to know why your IT guy is using that. As far as I'm aware this (MetaSound) is orphaned technology not supported by Voxware anymore. If he's using some software made within the past 6-7 years, I would love to know about it. Who produces the Bravo Player software? Is that Thought Studios? -- Speaking for myself only. See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
