| Windows Media Player "sync" problem -- files with status "stopped" player using its 'sync' tab. For some reason, I pressed 'Stop Sync' button during the sync process. My subsequent attempts to sync the stopped files failed. In the 'Sync Results' there is 'stopped' in the Status column. I tried many odd things like deleting settings files created on the MP3 player. I don't know how using WMP I can sync those 'stopped' files. Nothing on the Net seemed to help me. Have you got any idea? Thanks. |

| Re: Windows Media Player "sync" problem -- files with status "stopped" Does http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935552/en-us help at all.... ? That seems loosely but not directly related. =\ -- Speaking for myself only. See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. I have this same problem. Did you ever get it fixed? "Sunil Sangwal" wrote: > A playlist in Windows Media Player (WMP) (ver. 11) was being sync'ed to MP3 > player using its 'sync' tab. Have you got any idea? Thanks. There's a converted media folder ("transcoded file cache") used by media player to avoid having to repeatedly re-convert content when it's synced several times to the same device. I'm guessing the file has ended up in there as part-converted and marked as such. In media player, if you go to the Sync tab first, then choose More Options dropdown menu under the Sync tab, then to Advanced... button, try clicking "Delete Files" there I'd also remove the MP3 player from the USB port, close and restart media player and let it pick up the device settings and "notice" there are no previously transcoded files - hopefully that'll fix it up. If not, there *are* lists of content held by media player in another folder, I'll work out what that might be called if you're not fixed up after this step.
