    Can't see shared library

I am running Windows Vista with Windows Media Player 11 on my computer and I am not able to see any media which is shared by the Windows XP machine that is also running WMP 11 version. I was able to share the content to the Vista machine from the Windows XP machine but when I go into Vista and select 'Find media that others are sharing' and then after I press Ok, then nothing is happening. Is there some other place that I need to see the shared media or what? Thanks for any suggestions.

For computers running Windows XP to appear on the Network Map diagram, you must download and install the LLTD Responder component. By installing the LLTD Responder, and enabling File and Printer Sharing in Windows Firewall, a computer running Windows XP can respond to other Windows Vista computers on the network that are attempting to create a network map. So to install the LLTD Responder onto a computer running Windows XP, follow the steps given on this website - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc749119.aspx

You can also try to start Network and Sharing Center from a command prompt, for same follow the below steps:

    1. First of all click on Start, and then click All Programs, click Accessories, and then click Command Prompt. The command prompt window opens.
    2. After that in command prompt, type the following command, which is not case sensitive, and then press ENTER:
      Code:
      control.exe /name Microsoft.NetworkAndSharingCenter

You can even download a software called WombatShare which offers a number of plugins for media players and platforms that allow users to share their media libraries automatically without configuring it. Install the plugin for your favorite media player, such as Winamp or Foobar2000 or Windows Media Player and get your friends/colleagues to do the sharing.

For easier and faster discovery of computers on your home network, it is highly recommended that all computers on a home network be configured for the same workgroup name. If computers are in multiple workgroups, it can take additional time and effort to discover all of the computers on the network.
