View files share by upnp server with windows media player 11, vist

I run a upnp server on a linux system, sharing files through an upnp server.
I am able to see the share icon under network, i enabled my upnp media
sharing in wmp11, but still not able to view the upnp server in wmp11. Is
there such limitation that wmp11 only sees files shares by other wmp11 upnp
server only? I'm running mediatomb by the way.

I'm not sure there's a limitation like that (i.e. it "should" work).
I've got an NLSU here, which offers Samba shares instead.

It works just fine in media player and iTunes, as long as the media
share is added to the media player library by pressing F3 and browsing
to the music storage directory on the file share.
