| Windows Media Player 11 will not adapt video to Media Player windo
Hello there, I switched to Windows Media Player 11 quite a while back on Windows XP Professional. Now what i notice is that the player will not longer automatically adapt the played video file to the size of the Media Player window. I double checked to see if the option is on. When i minimize or maximize the player window once it will adapt but it should do so instantly upon startup/opening just like Windows Media Player 10 did. Is this a bug or something else preventing it from working? |

it's not suprising since neither version knows what size the actual video (original) should be and so both displays are based upon some abitrary guess work wmp 6.4 is the 'only' version of windows media player that knows the original size of the video - it is still lurking around on your machine somewhere and if you run your video with it you will be able to see it in it's original size "DJ_The_SP" <DJ_The_SP@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C50D6A13-8E20-4294-B460-63858C096DA0@microsoft.com... > Hello there, > > I switched to Windows Media Player 11 quite a while back on Windows XP > Professional. Looks like you are not wuite getting my point. :) I do not want to make the media player window have the size of the played video file. I want it the other way around! In WMP10 the video file got stretched without any hassle. i notice the play option says "fit video to player on resize" (as distinct from 'on start') "JethroUK©" <reply@the.board> wrote in message news:VXJzi.37283$S91.12315@newsfe7-win.ntli.net... > it's not suprising since neither version knows what size the actual video > (original) should be and so both displays are based upon some abitrary > guess work > > wmp 6.4 is the 'only' version of windows media player that knows the > original size of the video - it is still lurking around on your machine > somewhere and if you run your video with it you will be able to see it in > it's original size > > > "DJ_The_SP" <DJ_The_SP@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:C50D6A13-8E20-4294-B460-63858C096DA0@microsoft.com... >> Hello there, >> >> I switched to Windows Media Player 11 quite a while back on Windows XP >> Professional. I see the 2 options. So WMP can change the window to the video file format upon starting. But it can't do it the other way around? VideoLAN player here i come. "JethroUK©" wrote: > i notice the play option says "fit video to player on resize" (as distinct > from 'on start') > |

Prolly just an oversight. If you go back to those settings : You should have Zoom set to 100% (not 50 or 200%) Fit video to fit player on Resize (ticked) Fit player to fit video on Start (ticked) HTH Cheers - Neil ------------------------------------------------ Digital Media MVP : 2004-2007 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/mvpfaqs |

Sorry to reply this late. But i tried what you suggested to no avail unfortunatly. Ticking both options and setting the zoom to 100% will not change the behaviour of the player upon starting. |
