Error C00D10D2 on Windows Media Player

I upgraded recently from Windows XP to Vista and if I try to rip a cd then it gives me an error message saying that "Windows Media Player cannot rip one or more tracks from the cd" along with the options to either close it or web help. When I select web help and then click on "Technical Details" then it shows "error code-C00D10D0" and "Windows Media Player cannot rip CD because a valid rip location cannot be created". This all started only after the OS upgrade, can anyone please help.

Microsoft has released a cumulative update for Windows Media Player 11 in Windows Vista. This update resolves some reliability issues in Windows Media Player 11 in Windows Vista. You can achieve better reliability in various scenarios by installing this update. You can download the same update from this link - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941651

    SAme thing here

Try to follow the below workaround and see if that works:

    1. First of all open Windows Media Player
    2. After that you have to click Tools, Options and then choose Devices tab.
    3. Now you need to highlight the CD drive and then click Properties
    4. After that simply select Digital and Use error correction on both Playback and Rip portion
    5. Now you have to click on Apply and then click on Ok and then try to rip music and check if it is working or not.

If the above solution doesnt work then follow the below one and see if that helps:
    1. As usual, just open Windows Media Player
    2. After that click Tools, Options and then choose Rip Music tab.
    3. Now, under Rip settings, change the format to MP3 or WAV.
    4. After that you have to adjust the Audio Settings to Best Quality.
    5. Now just click on Apply and then click on Ok.
    6. And then try to rip music, it should work now.

Windows Media Player for Windows XP has MP3 encoding plug-in support. To enable the Windows Media Player to encode MP3 files, you must license and install a compatible MP3 encoder. Windows Media Player supports only Audio Compression Manager (ACM) functions to communicate with the MP3 encoders. For more information, visit this website - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306494
